Installation of electric unit heaters in a marquee to protect spare parts.

Electric unit heaters in a marquee

In order to store the spare parts in a marquee and prevent them from deteriorating over the winter period, POLYPOLES technicians installed 3 x 18 kW electric unit heaters with thermostats to regulate the interior temperature. Also, to counteract heat loss, a industrial air destratifier was installed at the top of the ridge (7 m). The power required was calculated on the basis of the building’s size, insulation and geographical location.

Recommendations for installing electric unit heaters

As you can see from the photos, the electric unit heaters have been installed at a height of around 4 metres, and are angled slightly downwards (the higher the electric unit heater is positioned, the more it should be angled downwards, to create a flow of warm air towards the ground). Also, as you can see from the installation, avoid blowing the heaters towards the cold walls of the marquee. To easily control the electric unit heaters, the technicians installed a control thermostat equipped with a digital display, which is connected to the 3 unit heaters via a distribution box. This makes it possible to set the desired temperature and heating times.
