How do I use the VIVAX air conditioner?

The reversible model uses the thermodynamic heating principle. All models have a cooling capacity of 3,500 watts. What’s more, they offer unbeatable value for money and a CE energy consumption rating. They are mobile thanks to their castors, and the central unit weighs around 32 kg.

How do I use the various functions of the Vivax air conditioner?

Each function of your mobile air conditioner has its own specific operating mode. This equipment offers a very practical operating manual. Illuminated buttons make it easy to control the machine. The LED display shows the set temperature, operating mode and timer settings. Let’s move on to the basic controls for this type of air conditioner.

Switching on and off

Vivax air conditioners are switched on by pressing the button on the control panel. This button is marked ON/OFF. Simply press it when you want to switch your unit on or off.

Choice of operating mode

The Vivax air conditioner has three operating modes:

  • Refresh
  • Ventilate
  • Dehumidify and Auto.

To select an option, press the ” Mode” button . This is also the button to use if you wish to change settings. The selected option is indicated by an indicator light. When the machine is in “Dehumidify” mode, the temperature will be shown on the LED display.

Setting fan speeds

If you choose the “Ventilation” option, press the fan speed button to set the speed. You can choose between several options: Low, Medium, High and Automatic. The chosen level is indicated by an indicator light, except for AUTO mode, where everything is switched off.

Temperature setting

If you choose the “Refresh” option, you can set your preferred temperature using the (- ) and (+) buttons. It changes by one unit (1°C) with each operation and ranges from 17 to 30°C. To switch from Fahrenheit (°F) to Celsius (°C) or vice versa, hold down these two buttons for 2 seconds. As a reminder, no symbol on the display will appear in degrees Fahrenheit.

The “TIMER” timer button

The ” TIMER” timer lets you program your air conditioner’s on/off time. Using it, you can set the switch-on time automatically. To program an automatic restart when your unit is switched off, for example, simply press the timer button. Hold down the (+) or (- ) button to set your preferred delay. To deactivate this option, set the timer to zero.

The “SWING” button

The “SWING” button is found on all our models. It is used to stop or start the orientation deflector.

The SLEEP/ECO option

Press the whiteSleep/Ecobutton if you want the temperature to be lowered or raised by 1°C every thirty minutes. The new temperature will be maintained for 7 hours before returning to its initial value. Please note, however, that the “Sleep/Eco” function only works in conjunction with the “Refresh” option.

What to avoid when using a Vivax air conditioner

To ensure your safety and that of your belongings, you must follow the usual precautionary instructions. Indeed, improper use of this equipment can cause a great deal of damage to your house, apartment… Here are the safety instructions to follow:

  • Avoid installing the vivax air conditioner in a damp room (kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, etc.).
  • Do not touch the air conditioner with wet hands.
  • Use only your fingers to press the control panel buttons.
  • Avoid touching the unit with metal or iron objects.
  • Never switch on your air conditioner when it is out of order.
  • Never switch off your device by unplugging it from the mains. Always use the on/off switch.

In addition to these, you must also :

  • Avoid covering or obstructing air inlet and outlet paths.
  • Do not use hazardous chemicals to clean your air conditioner.
  • Do not place the air conditioner near flammable products such as gasoline, alcohol, gas, insecticides, etc.
  • Avoid disassembling the casings and other parts of the machine, as this will protect you from fire.

The unit is fitted with a battery-operated remote control . Make sure the batteries are correctly inserted. Do not mix old and new batteries. Avoid combining batteries of different models.

What to do when an error is reported

The VIVAX packaged reversible air conditioner is supplied with an instruction manual. This sheet contains all the codes indicating operating errors. Here’s what to do when they appear on the display.

Code E1

This code indicates an error in the internal temperature sensor. When this code appears, simply unplug the unit and plug it back in.

Code E2

This indicates that an error has occurred in the evaporator temperature sensor. To solve the problem, disconnect and reconnect the unit.

Code E3

This indicates that an error has occurred in the capacitor temperature sensor. The procedure for solving this problem is the same as for the previous error.

Code E4

This code is displayed when there is a display communication error. To solve the problem, restart the device. If the problem persists, contact our customer service department.

Code P1

Code P1 indicates that the lower pan is full of water. The drain hose must be connected to remove the water. If this code persists, please contact your local Service Centre. If you can’t control your air conditioner from the control panel, you can do so remotely, using the remote control. However, the maximum signal range is 8 meters. The remote control generally has the same buttons as the control panel, with the exception of the “Refresh” button.
