Wine chiller rental
Wine chiller rental
POLYPOLES has specialized in wine chiller rental since 2005. At that time, we rented more than fifteen chillers for the Vinexpo world event. Since then, our contracts have been renewed every 2 years.
With its headquarters located in Bordeaux, a renowned wine-making region (Saint Emilion, Médoc, Saint Estèphe, Margaux, etc.), the châteaux called on Polypoles to supply chillers for their wine-making processes, in particular to optimize malolactic fermentation.
Our fleet has now grown to include more than 100 chiller rental units. Our expertise and the fact that our agencies are located close to wine-producing regions is recognized in the French wine-producing market (Alsace, Burgundy, Côtes du Rhône, etc.).
If you need to rent a wine chiller, our specialized technicians are here to help.

- No overhaul, maintenance or upkeep at your expense
- Equipment replacement in case of breakdown
- Modularity in the choice of equipment (possibility of upgrading your solution).
Why rent a wine chiller?
Wine chillers have become an essential part of the quality wine-making process.
It allows you to cope with temperature constraints and accompanies you through the various stages of winemaking:
- When processing the harvest
- During the various stages of alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, as well as tartaric stability and precipitation.
We have extensive experience of cooling loops in the wine industry (our head office is in Bordeaux). As a result, our entire fleet in the Gironde region is reserved year after year for the grape harvest.
Our rental services are particularly interesting for occasional use or when your fixed equipment breaks down.

How does a chiller work?
This is refrigeration equipment designed to produce chilled water for various applications.
The unit is a monoblock unit with a compressor refrigeration circuit comprising :
- An evaporator, either embedded in a tank or with a plate, which produces the cold
- A condenser, usually air-cooled
The water circulating in the chiller is generally connected to a closed loop. In this way, the frigories (=negative calories) are conveyed by the water, which has a very high heat density.
It should be noted that chillers are now often reversible (heat pump): it is therefore also possible to produce hot water on demand.
The chilled water unit has the advantage of producing both cold and hot water (air conditioning and heating) with a single machine. It’s also an advantage in terms of environmental impact and energy savings, since reversible chillers consume just 1 kWh of electricity to produce around 3 kWh of heating.
POLYPOLES is a specialist in cooling units (cooling only or reversible) in the 3 to 120 kW power range. We also have a network of partners for higher power ratings
